Mandate to leave the internet alone

From Campaign For Liberty:

Under the guise of "protecting consumers" like you and me with "net neutrality," "open access," and, of course, their favorite - "cybersecurity" - the statists have launched an all-out WAR for total control of the Internet.

But their real target is you and me.

And it's no secret they aren't going to stop unless you and I MAKE them.

Please help Campaign for Liberty fight back by signing the mandate supporting C4L's fight to protect Internet freedom.

The statists don't leave well enough alone. Now they trying to make a play to control the internet, again. They won't stop themselves that is why it is up to us to stop them and by doing that is to sign the mandate. ISP's to help RIAA to censor the net

From Demand Progress:

They're selling us out. Just weeks after Internet users from across the globe came together to to beat SOPA, the major ISPs are cutting a deal with Big Content to restrict web access for users who are accused of piracy.

It'll do much of the dirty work we were able to prevent when we took down SOPA, this time by restricting certain Americans' access to the WHOLE Internet.

The details are fuzzy, but the head of the Recording Industry Association of America's bragged this week that ISPs will start policing copyright by July of this year.

Will you click here to sign our open letter to the ISPs? Demand that they respect their customers and back down now.

Here's RT's take on the proposal:

"Some of the biggest Internet service providers in America plan to adopt policies that will punish customers for copyright infringement, and one of the top trade groups in the music biz announced this week that it could begin as soon as this summer....

"RIAA CEO Cary Sherman was one of the guest speakers among a New York panel this week and he confirmed that, at this rate, some of the most powerful Internet providers in America should have their new policies on the books by July 12, 2012."

The ISPs are poised to start treating their customers like criminals, restricting their access to the Internet.

And they're cutting us off at the knees just ast we've begun to force a new conversation about Internet freedom and copyright law.

Please sign on to our open letter demanding they back down -- just click here.

Thanks!

If the ISP's liquidate what their customers want then they'll lose customers thus liquidating their business. Not a very smart move but considering the RIAA will be sitting pretty if that happens or is that the RIAA's plan all along. If ISP's are stupid enough to go along with this plan they are out of business. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

From Demand Progress

Hollywood thinks Congress is on their leash: Motion Picture Association of America President Chris Dodd just threatened to cut off Hollywood campaign contributions to any member of Congress who doesn’t pass his Internet-censorship legislation.

After Congress shelved the controversial PIPA and SOPA bills, Dodd told Fox News:

“Those who count on quote ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake. Don’t ask me to write a check for you when you think your job is at risk and then don’t pay any attention to me when my job is at stake.”

Click here to urge your lawmakers to free themselves from Hollywood's choke collar. Tell them to give back the MPAA's money.

This is what corruption looks like in Washington. It’s outrageous that Dodd — himself a former senator — is leveling these threats. Our elected officials must send a signal back to Dodd and the rest of K Street that our nation’s laws can’t be bought.

It's time that Congress showed that its votes are no longer for sale. Congress must give back the MPAA’s dirty money or give it to charity. Congress must make it clear to the world that it won’t be bullied into supporting censorship.

Please click above to urge your lawmakers to return Hollywood's dirty dollars.

Thanks!

Can you believe the gall that Dodd displayed? Fuck him and fuck Hollywood. I hate the misandric movies they put out so as far as I'm concerned they know where to put it and I insist they shove it in sideways. Le'ts sign that petition and put assholes like Dodd in their place.

Fight for the future by opposing censorship today

I received this from Fight For The Future:

Happy Holidays -- we have some great news to share.

We've just won two huge battles in the fight against Internet censorship -- everything you are doing is working! First off, the House of Representatives failed to move SOPA out of committee! Why? Because their offices got swamped with phone calls and overwhelmed by the snowballing opposition. Thank you for helping make that happen.
Second, in response to the boycott of GoDaddy, the web hosting company just made a public announcement that it's dropping its support of SOPA. Amazing what you have made happen.
Please join us in holding GoDaddy accountable, until they drop any and all efforts to support not just SOPA, but also its Senate cousin, PIPA. The boycott already worked to get GoDaddy to change their position on SOPA, now we urgently need to hear from GoDaddy about PIPA too.
So what's next?
The PIPA bill is still alive and strong in the Senate, and could be voted on in January. Like SOPA, it threatens free speech, innovation, and the basic structure of the Internet.
Thank you for all that you do -- it is working!

Fight for the Future
P.S. Please use these links to ask your friends to hit GoDaddy where it hurts, by pledging to join the boycott too:

Fight For The Future:click here

Sounds like something we can all do and that is stand up to censorship by saying no to companies that engage or encourage it. Do you want to be told when to talk, whom to talk to or what you are allowed to hear? Do you like the idea of someone else deciding what's best for you? If not then get on board today by signing that petition.

From Demand Progress

I received the following from Demand Progress. I'll let them take it from here:

We're off to the races.

As they try to protect their profits by censoring the Internet, Disney, Warner Bros, and the gang have launched a front group called "Creative America." They just announced that 10,000 people have signed up over the last three months.

Will you help us prove that most Americans stand with us -- and against censorship -- by helping us identify 10,000 new censorship opponents in the next 24 hours?

Thousands have already signed, but our deadline is fast approaching: The Entertainment Industry is touting its 10,000 pro-Internet censorship signatures.

Will you ask your friends to stand against censorship with us? We're trying to beat their 10,000 signatures in 24 hours.

They may be refering to this: click here

If you haven't filled out this petition then please do. The freedoms that you're trying to preserve are your own so act today.

Defeat the House version of S.968

Congressman Bob Goldlatte

It seems someone in the House has authored a version of S.968 which is the Internet Blacklist bill aka PROTECT-ID act. To give you an idea how truly bad the Internet Blacklist bill is I present the following from an email:

Congressman Bob Goodlatte, a leader in Congress on technology policy, told a crowd of over a hundred that the House is working on its own version of the Senate bill....The House bill will be introduced in the next few weeks, and hearings will be scheduled for mid-September, Goodlatte said.

The Internet Blacklist Bill -- S.968, formally called the PROTECT IP Act -- would allow the Department of Justice to force search engines, browsers, and service providers to block users' access to websites that have been accused of facilitating intellectual property infringement -- without even giving them a day in court. It would also give IP rights holders a private right of action, allowing them to sue to have sites prevented from operating.

If this sounds like a bullshit move to you then write your Congressional Representative and tell them your displeasure about their censorship attempt. Tell them that S.968 and a House version of it is wrong and unacceptable. If you live in Congressman Bob Goldlatte's district let him know that stunts like this are unacceptable to you and if he continues to pull them you'll remember that in the voting booth. The more of us they hear from the better so email your Congressperson today.

Freedom of speech

We talk a lot about gender issues on this blog and how those issues concern men. One of the great things about the United States is the Constitution especially the 1st Amendment but it seems that the 1st Amendment is under attack. There is impending legislation that will curb freedoms on the internet. You can read more about it here. I think their goal is to get rid of those of us who are not the cool ones on the gender block the way the feminists and gay community are, according to the PC crowd. And since we are not one of the cool ones I'm sure they want us to go away and stop bothering people. Since the PC crowd hates men and favors women they want to make sure everyone does and the best way to do that is attempting to pass draconian legislation to shut up your opponents. I'm sure that sites that are PC will probably be exempt if this monstrosity of a bill ever becomes law. I'm sure they will be spared but what about us MRA's? Will we be spared? Not on your life,in fact it was probably sites such as mine that they had in mind when they drafted this bill. We are making progress and there are those that want to shut us up and perhaps this is an attempt to do so. Don't let them win oppose this bill today.
