From Fight For The Future:
We love the internet.
And we’re guessing you do too. Think about all the awesome things it gives us: A vast communication network; innovative businesses; a platform to freely speak or challenge powerful governments; and hundreds and hundreds of hours of cat videos.
All this great stuff is available because the internet was designed in an open and inclusive way, with a multitude of voices being able to get a say on how it’s governed.
But the internet is in danger.
There’s a meeting between the world’s governments in a just a few weeks, and it could very well decide the future of the internet through a binding international treaty. It’s called the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT), and it’s being organized by a government-controlled UN agency called the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
If some proposals at WCIT are approved, decisions about the internet would be made by a top-down, old-school government-centric agency behind closed doors. Some proposals allow for access to be cut off more easily, threaten privacy, legitimize monitoring and blocking online traffic. Others seek to impose new fees for accessing content, not to mention slowing down connection speeds. If the delicate balance of the internet is upset, it could have grave consequences for businesses and human rights.
This must be stopped.
Only governments get a vote at WCIT, so we need people from all around the world to demand that our leaders keep the internet open.
Watch the video, and take action above to tell your governments to oppose handing over key decisions about the internet to the ITU. Let’s use the internet’s global reach to save it.

Most of the other governmental lobbying usually involves one or two governments this one concerns the entire planet. It looks like the statists are going for broke on this one. This either shows how arrogant they've become or how desperate they are to shut up dissenting voices. Let's take them on and kick their ass.
My thoughts on pro-masculism and anti-feminism. Some thoughts may mirror what others have said while others are uniquely mine but either way they are legitimate.

A word on the freedom of speech
In the United States freedom is speech is so important that it is the 1st Amendment to our Constitution. Freedom of speech should be extended to all and that is what the internet does. There are some that don't believe in freedom of speech for everyone but for only the chosen few and I believe they will make themselves the choosers. There are posts here dedicated to freedom of speech issues such as PIPA,SOPA and other unconstitutional nightmares. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance and if you value your liberties you must be vigilant and activist. That is the only way to get things done.
If you a are freedom-loving American who wishes to be a shining beacon to the rest of the world then vote. Voting time is coming up in November, the time to vote in pro-male and pro-civil liberties candidates and vote out misandric censorers. If you favor these things and are registered to vote then please do so. If you are not registered time is running out so register today. You do so by going down to your nearest post office or motor vehicles department. If you are unable to that click on the banner:

Tell the House to oppose H.R. 3523
From Campaign For Liberty:
This coming week, Congress is set to take up another so-called "cybersecurity" bill, H.R. 3523, the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011" (CISPA).
And this time, many of those who joined us to stop SOPA and PIPA are supporting this legislation.
So only the immediate action of you and your fellow C4L members can help protect our privacy from the government's ever-expanding reach.
After our victory over SOPA/PIPA, I wrote to you in late February about the need to stay vigilant against Congress' attempts to assert more control over the Internet.
Well, since then, Republicans and Democrats have introduced at least four major "cybersecurity" bills.
Expanding government power is always bipartisan.
CISPA, sponsored by Rep. Mike Rogers (MI-8), is promoted as a harmless bill that will enable voluntary "information sharing" between private corporations and government agencies in the name of "cybersecurity."
Unfortunately, it would allow the transfer of vast amounts of data, including information like your Internet browsing history or email content, to any agency in the federal government, including non-civilian agencies such as the National Security Agency or the Department of Defense Cyber Command.
One major problem with these alleged "cybersecurity" bills is their overly broad focus on what information private companies are encouraged to share with federal agencies.
CISPA currently contains no incentive for private companies like Facebook or Google to remove personally identifiable information from data they share.
In addition, the way this legislation is drafted, it currently overrides privacy presumptions found in the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and the Communications Act regarding the privacy of an individual's online communications and related records.
Essentially, CISPA would deem all existing privacy laws null and void for "cybersecurity" purposes.
Once the government has this information, there are no meaningful restrictions on its use, as its only qualifier is that it must be related to "cybersecurity" or to protect "national security."
As C4L members know too well, "national security" has become a catch-all excuse for government powergrabs since 9/11.
Finally, while the bill includes a requirement for the Director of National Intelligence's Inspector General to issue annual reports on how the government is using the information shared under the bill, such reports would only be provided to congressional intelligence committees.
These reports would not constitute meaningful restrictions or do anything to dissuade the misuse of personal information shared under CISPA.
As I hinted at earlier, unlike the January 18 "Internet blackout" over SOPA and PIPA, this time Internet giants like Facebook and Twitter are openly supporting CISPA, along with powerful special interest groups like the US Chamber of Commerce.
In other words, don't expect the cavalry to back us up on this one.
And House Leadership is currently engaged in a full-court press effort to get your representative to support H.R. 3523.
Sources on the Hill have informed us of "members only" meetings, where representatives are being encouraged to vote for CISPA as a "national security" issue addressing a "credible" "cybersecurity threat."
I'm sure it's only a coincidence that this briefing comes conveniently just ahead of when the establishment wants to ram something through.
In the face of such longshot odds, without your immediate action, I can't promise that we have even the slightest chance of beating back this egregious invasion of your privacy.
But, I've seen the power the liberty movement can have when it speaks out with a unified voice.
And you better believe members of Congress have taken notice, too.
That’s why I hope you’ll contact Congress right away.
Click here to find your representative’s information.
And after you’ve contacted Congress, please forward this email to at least five friends or family members encouraging them to do the same.
This fight won't have the glamour or media attention that SOPA and PIPA received, so please take action immediately and show Congress the liberty movement is serious about defending our constitutionally protected rights no matter the odds.
In Liberty,
Matt Hawes
Vice President
P.S. Internet giants like Facebook and Twitter are openly supporting H.R. 3523, the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011" (CISPA) - the latest plan from Congress to further infringe on Americans' privacy.
It’s up to the liberty movement to take action and stop CISPA in its tracks! Please contact your representative immediately and demand a "NO" vote on H.R. 3523 and any similar legislation!
It just seems that this Congress just doesn't stop in fact every time some idiot gets a bad idea they have to draw up a bill to give some sort of legitimacy to it. CISPA,along with PIPA and SOPA,is a bad idea and unfortunately we're never going to run out of bad ideas but we can defeat them so the best thing to do is to weigh in your disgust at government censorship and let them know you will not tolerate it.
You can find your Congressperson here
You can also contact Speaker of the House John Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor here. Let them know we are tired of the assault upon the internet and we want it to stop.

Keep the pressure on Zuckerberg to withdraw support for CISPA
From Demand Progress:
It's working: Nearly 200,000 people have signed our open letter, and Facebook is responding to our criticism of its support for CISPA.
Will you help us break 200,000 signatures?
Let's see what we can do. This is in reference to this. Hopefully we can make an impact on Mark Zuckerberg and get him to change his mind about supporting CISPA. If you haven't already sign the petition to pressure Zuckerberg to withdraw his support for CISPA please do it now. The internet shouldn't bow down to anyone, whether it's the government or private industry. Just say no to internet censorship.

Facebook supports CISPA
From Demand Progress:
Tell Facebook: Withdraw Your Support For CISPA
What is Facebook thinking? They've signed on in support of CISPA -- the new bill that would obliterate online privacy, give the military crazy new abilities to spy on the Internet, and potentially let ISPs block sites and cut off users accused of piracy.
First, please help push this viral on Facebook by using this link -- you'll be sharing the campaign, along with the photo of Mark Zuckerberg at right:
The Center for Democracy and Technology says, "CISPA has a very broad, almost unlimited definition of the information that can be shared with government agencies and it supersedes all other privacy laws."
According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation:
An ISP could even interpret this bill as allowing them to block accounts believed to be infringing, block access to websites like The Pirate Bay believed to carry infringing content, or take other measures provided they claimed it was motivated by cybersecurity concerns.
Internet users were able to push GoDaddy to withdraw its support of SOPA. Now it's time to make sure Facebook knows we're furious.
First, please help push this viral on Facebook by using this link -- you'll be sharing the campaign, along with the photo of Mark Zuckerberg above:
PETITION TO MARK ZUCKERBERG: What is Facebook thinking? You're encouraging Congress to obliterate online privacy -- Even as your users express increasing concern about the privacy of their accounts on your site. Please withdraw your support for CISPA right away.
Facebook is supporting CISPA. Ain't that fucking ironic considering facebook is shooting itself in the foot by supporting CISPA. What if facebook promotes something The Powers That Be don't approve of and facebook is blacklisted? They didn't think about that one obviously. If censorship is something that pisses you off then by all means sign the petition.

CISPA,the new SOPA
From Demand Progress:
Here's their next move: The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, or CISPA, would obliterate any semblance of online privacy in the United States.
And CISPA would provide a victory for content owners who were shell-shocked by the unprecedented outpouring of activism in opposition to SOPA and Internet censorship.
The House of Representatives is planning to take up CISPA later this month. Click here to ask your lawmakers to oppose it.
SOPA was pushed as a remedy to the supposed economic threat of online piracy -- but economic fear-mongering didn't quite do the trick.
So those concerned about copyright are engaging in sleight of hand, appending their legislation to a bill that most Americans will assume is about keeping them safe from bad guys.
This so-called cyber security bill aims to prevent theft of "government information" and "intellectual property" and could let ISPs block your access to websites -- or the whole Internet.
Don't let them push this back-door SOPA. Click here to demand that your lawmakers oppose CISPA.
CISPA also encourages companies to share information about you with the government and other corporations.
That data could then be used for just about anything -- from prosecuting crimes to ad placements.
And perhaps worst of all, CISPA supercedes all other online privacy protections.
Please click here to urge your lawmakers to oppose CISPA when it comes up for a vote this month.
Thanks for fighting for the Internet.

and this:
Demand Progress members have been bombarding Congress in opposition to CISPA, with nearly 60,000 emails sent in the last 24 hours.
We need to make sure our lawmakers know that we won't stop fighting for privacy rights and Internet freedom.
Fine, let's add to it. It is our internet too and we want to preserve its freedom. By preserving its freedom we are preserving our freedom particularly our freedom of speech. If you haven't sign the petition to preserve free speech you may want to do so.

A blurb of hope
From Demand Progress:
Hollywood's bragging that they're pushing a new version of SOPA. But in less than 24 hours more than 50,000 of you have emailed the White House to demand that President Obama reject Hollywood's back room deal.
This is indeed encouraging as it shows Obama and the other PTB that we are not going to let them cancel the Constitution on us,particularly the First Amendment. Be sure to sign the Fight For The Future petition mentioned in the post previous to this one and sign the Demand Progress petition as well.

Fight for the future by opposing internet censorship today
From Fight For The Future:
Can you believe this? After the largest online protest in history, the Obama administration is still voicing support for SOPA.
We promised to ask for your help if SOPA returned. We're asking now. This kind of backtracking demands a strong, fast response. We're running a petition to demand that Obama drop all support for internet censorship. Our goal? Get more signatures than the top petition on whitehouse.gov -- 151,000 signatures. Tell Obama to promise: "I will never advance legislation that blocks websites or disconnects Americans’ internet access.”
What is the White House working on exactly? Just the other day, the administration sent a letter to Congress to demonstrate their support for new internet censorship legislation. A few weeks ago, the White House struck a deal to give corporations private powers to shut down your internet connection (after "six strikes" without due process or judicial review), completely in secret.
Obama's internet would let private companies block sites and turn off our web connections. Blocking websites censors free speech, hurts jobs, and breaks the internet. These are tactics used by totalitarian governments and we believe they’re never ok. Let's get more signatures than any petition on whitehouse.gov.
As Wired noted*, "The White House did say that it wouldn't endorse a bill that endangers freedom of expression, increases cybersecurity risks, or negatively affects the DNS system. On the other hand, it says elsewhere that "combating online infringement" -- not protecting free speech -- is a governmental priority "of the highest order." What about free speech, Obama?
Sign the petition now, then share it to keep the internet strong. Our friends need to know where the President is currently standing on SOPA.
We couldn't have stopped SOPA and PIPA without you and all of your friends! And we can't do it without you now. Let's make sure SOPA 2.0 never gets written. Thank you,
Tiffiniy, Zak, Fight for the Future!
click here to sign the petition.
The Hollywood lobby sure knows how to make everyday people from all walks of life hate them. Free speech advocates, such as myself, need to keep them honest and the best way to do that is with an uncensored internet. An uncensored internet is a threat to the PTB and they know it. To preserve freedom I will sign a lot of petitions so one more won't hurt. Sign today.

Hollywood lobby to get SOPA like legislation passed
From Demand Progress:
Tell Obama And Dodd: No Backroom Dealing, No New SOPA
They still just don't get it. Chris Dodd -- the head of the Hollywood Lobby -- is bragging that he's working on a new insider deal to push through SOPA-like legislation.
He had this exchange with the Hollywood Reporter this week:
THR: Are there conversations going on now?
Dodd: I'm confident that's the case, but I'm not going to go into more detail because obviously if I do, it becomes counterproductive.
THR: Did you feel personally blindsided by Obama over SOPA?
Dodd: I'm not going to revisit the events of last winter. I'll only say to you that I'm confident he's using his good relationships in both communities to do exactly what you and I have been talking about.
This exchange comes days after the White House issued a report that urges a redoubling of efforts to crack down on piracy.
Hollywood and Obama should've learned: No form of censorship will be acceptable to Internet users, and we're fed up with corrupt, back-room deals that are driven by the rich and well-connected. Any major Internet policy changes should be negotiated in the light of day, so the millions of people who'd be affected can have their say too.
Please tell President Obama to reject Hollywood's backroom deals -- just add your name at right.
TO PRESIDENT OBAMA AND CHRIS DODD: After the biggest outpouring of activism in the history of the Internet, it's appalling that Hollywood is back to its old insider ways. No backroom deals -- and no new SOPA. And any and all negotiations with Hollywood should take place in the light of day.

Wow,these idiots just don't get it. We don't want their censorship pushed on us. You would think that after they got shellacked for sponsoring SOPA they would learn their lesson but no they want to go through this again. If we have to stand up to them again it is not a problem because the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.Preserve your liberty sign the petition today.

ISP's to help RIAA to censor the net
From Demand Progress:
They're selling us out. Just weeks after Internet users from across the globe came together to to beat SOPA, the major ISPs are cutting a deal with Big Content to restrict web access for users who are accused of piracy.
It'll do much of the dirty work we were able to prevent when we took down SOPA, this time by restricting certain Americans' access to the WHOLE Internet.
The details are fuzzy, but the head of the Recording Industry Association of America's bragged this week that ISPs will start policing copyright by July of this year.
Will you click here to sign our open letter to the ISPs? Demand that they respect their customers and back down now.
Here's RT's take on the proposal:
"Some of the biggest Internet service providers in America plan to adopt policies that will punish customers for copyright infringement, and one of the top trade groups in the music biz announced this week that it could begin as soon as this summer....
"RIAA CEO Cary Sherman was one of the guest speakers among a New York panel this week and he confirmed that, at this rate, some of the most powerful Internet providers in America should have their new policies on the books by July 12, 2012."
The ISPs are poised to start treating their customers like criminals, restricting their access to the Internet.
And they're cutting us off at the knees just ast we've begun to force a new conversation about Internet freedom and copyright law.
Please sign on to our open letter demanding they back down -- just click here.
Thanks!

If the ISP's liquidate what their customers want then they'll lose customers thus liquidating their business. Not a very smart move but considering the RIAA will be sitting pretty if that happens or is that the RIAA's plan all along. If ISP's are stupid enough to go along with this plan they are out of business. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Not a very smart move but considering the RIAA will be sitting pretty if that happens or is that the RIAA's plan all along. If ISP's are stupid enough to go along with this plan they are out of business. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

European versions of SOPA and PIPA:from backrooms to street protests
From Fight For The Future:
Together, we beat SOPA in a huge victory for internet freedom. But this Saturday, internet freedom protests are breaking out in over 200 cities across Europe. Why?
Because the companies behind SOPA are using international trade agreements as a backdoor to pass SOPA-style laws
SOPA's supporters are pushing two agreements: ACTA and TPP1. ACTA would criminalize users, encourage internet providers to spy on you, and make it easier for media companies to sue sites out of existence and jail their founders. Sound familiar? That's right, ACTA is from the same playbook as SOPA, but global. Plus it didn't even have to pass through Congress2.
TPP goes even farther than ACTA, and the process has been even more secretive and corrupt. Last weekend (we wish this was a joke) trade negotiators partied with MPAA (pro-SOPA) lobbyists before secret negotiations in a Hollywood hotel, while public interest groups were barred from meeting in the same building.3
Trade agreements are a gaping loophole, a secretive backdoor track that--even though it creates new laws--is miles removed from democracy. Trade negotiators are unelected and unaccountable, so these agreements have been very hard for internet rights groups to stop.
But now the tide is turning. Fueled by the movement to stop SOPA, anti-ACTA protests are breaking out across the EU, which hasn't ratified ACTA. The protests are having an impact: leaders in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia have backtracked on ACTA.4 Now a massive round of street protests in over 200 cities is planned for this Saturday February 11th.
We're planning an online protest this Saturday to support the protests in the streets. Why? Because together we can drive millions of emails to key decision makers--and start tipping the scales like we did on SOPA.
Can you take part? Scroll down to get the code to run on your site!
We just built an ACTA & TPP contact tool, and it's not just a petition. It's code for your site that figures out the visitor's country and lets them email all their Members of European Parliament--the politicians who will be voting on ACTA in June--or the trade negotiators behind TPP. This direct contact between voters and their officials, driven by websites of all sizes, was instrumental in the fight against SOPA.
We can use the same tactics to defeat ACTA & TPP, but we need your help!
Support the street protests with a flood of emails to the officials responsible for ACTA & TPP. Get the code for your website!
Don't have a website? Tell officials in your country to scrap ACTA & TPP! And spread the word about Saturday's protests!
This is going to be tough fight. But we need to make secretive trade agreements harder to pass than US law. If we don't, our internet's future belongs to the lobbyists behind SOPA.
This is just the beginning,
--Holmes Wilson, Tiffiniy Cheng, Joshua Blount & the whole Fight for the Future team.
P.S. This map of ACTA street protests in Europe is amazing. The largest has almost 50,000 RSVP's!

Sounds good. Let's get the word out. It seems that we are dealing with underhanded individuals who will stoop to whatever level they think they have to just to steal freedoms from other adults. It's bad enough when the government alone tries this but when private enterprise plus government do it is unconscionable. When they act like a oligarchy tyranny then they need to be reined in. Protect you freedoms today, even if you're not in the EU please sign the petition otherwise this monstrosity may come to your country. Stop it before it does, sign the petition today.

Down to the wire
I received the following from Demand Progress:
It's do-or-die time: The House Judiciary Committee will likely pass the Stop Online Piracy Act THIS Thursday. Once the bill moves out of committee, the House can pass it at any time.
BUT, if we're able to kill it at this stage it'll probably never recover.
That's why we need your help this week: We want to make sure people understand what the Internet could be like if SOPA passes, so we're asking millions of people to protest censorship as part of our #CensorshipEverywhere campaign -- use our tool to censor parts of your own posts to Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and anything and everything else.
Click here to use our #CensorshipEverywhere tool to send a "censored" message to your friends -- to "uncensor" it, they'll need to contact Congress too.
The most important thing this week is that EVERYONE join the protests in some way. If all of us drive our audiences to make phonecalls, we're unstoppable. We need to jam Congress's inboxes and melt their phone lines if we're going to stop SOPA.
Our goals for the week are one call per congressmember per minute -- and one million emails: Please click here to censor your posts and then make a call or send an email, or do both right away -- it'll really only take a couple of minutes.
SOPA threatens the livelihood of the best parts of the Internet, and the best companies that use the Internet. More than 70 representatives from leading tech firms -- like Tumblr, Foursquare, Etsy, Kickstarter and Reddit -- and advocacy groups from across the political spectrum participated in a meeting to coordinate action against SOPA.
It was an inspirational meeting, and we're all going all-in to kill this legislation. We need to do everything we can to stop it in committee -- and everything we do this week sends a strong message to lawmakers: voters do not want this bill.
Please be part of the effort: Click here to call or email your member of the House of Reps right away. We need to flood them with contacts well before the vote this week.
Join us and be a hero for Internet freedom and free speech.

This is great because if we can kill this bill in committee it'll be a lot easier. If Internet censorship infuriates you then contact your Congressperson today and protest SOPA. These are your freedoms so you may want to protect them so send in those emails.

The good and the bad at Demand Progress
I received the following from Demand Progress:
Great news: 100,000 people have asked Senator Wyden to read their names during his filibuster of the dreaded PROTECT IP Act.
Worse news: This legislation could come to a vote as soon as later this week.
But the nastier we make this prospective filibuster look, the better the chance that Senate leadership won't even call for a vote.
Will you help us muster more troops? Please consider posting a link to StopCensorship.org on your blog or website, and share it with your friends:
Here's the message Senator Wyden's office issued to Demand Progress a few days ago, asking for more support from Internet users:
The filibuster affords senators an opportunity to stand up for what they believe in and there are few things I believe in more than ensuring that every American has a voice and an opportunity to get ahead.
Right now, the Internet gives every American that voice while making it possible for every entrepreneur, thinker and innovator to compete alongside the biggest and most moneyed interests.
It is my hope that -- with your help – my colleagues in Congress will realize that a free and open Internet is something that we as Americans should celebrate and not allow those special moneyed interests to quash.
It is my hope that – with your help – my colleagues in Congress will realize that PIPA/SOPA are the wrong way to protect intellectual property because the price they exact on the Internet is too high.
With your help, I believe we can get that word out and prevent these misguided bills from every reaching the House and Senate floor, but if they do reach the floor you can count on me to stand up and make our voices heard.
Let's make it clear to the Senator that we have his back, and that we plan to stand with him on the floor of the Senate.
I believe they are talking about this. If you haven't signed the petition then please do so.

Censorship proponents try to censor free speech advocates
I received the following from Demand Progress:
Don't Censor Censorship Opponents: Let Us Testify!
Irony Alert: The House is holding hearings on sweeping Internet censorship legislation this week -- and it's censoring the opposition! The bill is backed by Hollywood, Big Pharma, and the Chamber of Commerce, and all of them are going to get to testify at the hearing.
But the bill's opponents -- tech companies, free speech and human rights activists, and hundreds of thousands of Internet users -- won't have a voice.
As if you need a reminder: This is the most offensive Internet legislation we've seen in years. It will give the government and corporations new powers to block Americans' access to sites that are accused of copyright infringement, force sites like YouTube to go to new lengths to police users' contributions, and put people in prison for streaming certain content online.
This sham of a hearing represents everything that's broken about our political system. Will you sign the petition at right, demanding that opponents of the Blacklist Bill be allowed to testify this week? (It'll generate an email to them too.)
PETITION TO JUDICIARY CHAIRMAN LAMAR SMITH AND RANKING MEMBER JOHN CONYERS: The so-called "Stop Online Piracy Act" will kill innovation and undermine free speech rights. You need to give the hundreds of thousands of Americans who've spoken out against it a chance to make our case at this week's hearings.
Just fill out the form at right to send a message to the leadership of the Judiciary Committee.
This is sneaky and underhanded and we have to fight it. Sign that petition and tell Congress not trample on our rights.

Senator Amy Klobuchar wants to censor the net
I received this heads up from Demand Progress and it leaves me with one question: what are they putting in the Washington D.C. drinking water? Anyway here it is:
Crazy and awesome story: Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) is the lead sponsor of the bill that would make it a felony to post certain streamed content online -- meaning ordinary Americans would risk getting locked up for posting karaoke videos, cover band performances, video game play-throughs, and more to YouTube. It's now been rolled into the House's version of the Internet Blacklist Bill.
Love him or hate him, Justin Bieber got famous by posting videos of his covers of other artists' songs on YouTube, so he could go to jail if this legislation passes. He was asked what he thought about her proposal, and his answer couldn't have been more dead-on:
"Whoever she is, she needs to know that I'm saying she needs to be locked up - put away in cuffs." He added, "People need to have the freedom... people need to be able to sing songs. I just think that's ridiculous."
Let's make sure everybody in Minnesota knows that their senator is wasting her time on punitive Internet censorship legislation -- and losing her public spat with the Beebs.

Click on the link above to see the video targeted to her constituents letting them know what she is up to and what they can do to let her know their displeasure about her stance on this issue. Don't do this for me,do it for the Biebe.

They're at it again
The entertainment industry is starting the bullshit tango again with the PROTECT IP Act that will impose censorship on the net. If you think that is a bullshit move like I do then read on. I'll let Demand Progress take it from here (also while you're there don't forget to sign the letter):
UPDATE: We're anticipating that a version of PROTECT IP will be introduced in the House of Representatives in coming weeks, so we've pulled together this video to remind the world about what makes it so awful. Please check it out and pass it on:
ORIGINAL: We're forcing them to take our concerns seriously: Demand Progress members have sent more than 50,000 emails to Senators to urge them to oppose the Internet Blacklist Bill (the PROTECT IP Act). Now we're hearing back from them, and one thing is clear: Our emails are compelling Senators to start thinking hard about Internet freedom. Will you urge your lawmakers to oppose the Internet Blacklist Bill? Just fill out the form at right.
PROTECT IP would give the government the power to force Internet service providers, search engines, and other "information location tools" to block users' access to sites that have been accused of copyright infringement -- the initiation of a China-style censorship regime here in the United States.
Senators are writing back to let us know that our emails are making them think twice before rubber-stamping PROTECT IP. For instance, Oregon's Jeff Merkley is telling Demand Progress members:
I have heard from many Oregonians on both sides of this issue – those who support providing U.S. agencies with greater authority to shut down websites, and those who are worried that the legislation could result in Internet censorship. Thanks to your letter and the letters of fellow Oregonians, I have asked my staff to take a closer look into this legislation.
Will you email Congress to urge them to oppose the PROTECT IP Act? Just add your info at right to automatically send this note to them, under your name and from your address. (You can edit the letter if you'd like to.)
Like I said sign that letter. The freedoms you safeguard are you own so sign right away.
