Hollywood Feminist CEO Quits ‘Believing the Women’ After Son Accused of Sexual Assault
By Pluralist | Feb 24, 2019
“All of our actions were fully guided by our support for survivors.”
The CEO of a prominent new anti-sexual harassment organization abruptly resigned after her own son was accused of sexual assault.
Lisa Borders stepped down last week within 24 hours of telling the leadership of Time’s Up about the allegations against her 36-year-old son. The president and first CEO of the group, which came out of the #MeToo movement, she had been on the job for just three months.
Borders and Time’s Up announced that she was leaving in a joint statement posted to Instagram Monday, but they did not mention the reason. Only on Thursday, after the Los Angeles Times reported on the sexual assault allegations, did Time’s Up release a second statement admitting why Borders had resigned.
“All of our actions were fully guided by our support for survivors,” the second statement said.
Borders, a former WNBA president, told Time’s Up that she planned to aggressively defend her son, which put her at odds with the group’s stated ethos of believing women who claim sexual abuse, according to The Washington Post.
An unnamed Santa Monica woman told the Los Angeles Times that Borders’ son, a self-described life coach named Garry “Dijon” Bowden Jr., gave her a sexually inappropriate “healing session,” which left her surprised and feeling “violated.” She accused him of touching her genitals, kissing her neck, and brushing his erect penis against her body through his clothes.
Bowden Jr.’s lawyer, Alan Jackson, disputed the woman’s version of events. He shared with The Post text messages that Bowden and the woman exchanged after the session in which the woman thanked his client for the “gentle and authentic loving.”
In an interview with InStyle last month, Borders described her son as her version “2.0,” a “better version [of me] than I would ever be: more competent, confident and compassionate.”
Times’s Up, which has its own hashtag, was founded last year by women in the increasingly woke entertainment industry . The group been touted by Hollywood actresses at awards shows, with some walking the red carpet wearing black and a Time’s Up pin accompanied by survivors of sexual assault.
The Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund, housed by the National Women’s Law Center Fund, has helped employees and McDonald’s and Walmart file sexual harassment claims and dispersed about $750,000 in grants to nonprofits that work with low-wage workers who have alleged sexual harassment and workplace retaliation.
In January, the group launched an initiative – #TimesUpX2 and #4PercentChallenge – to get Hollywood studios to commit to hiring women as directors and to double the number of female leaders in other industries.

That reminds me of this.I wonder if they are the same case?
My thoughts on pro-masculism and anti-feminism. Some thoughts may mirror what others have said while others are uniquely mine but either way they are legitimate.

Kit Harington claims sexism against male actors in Hollywood needs to be recognised
Kit Harington has said he does not want to be pigeonholed because of his appearance and has argued sexism against men in Hollywood needs to be properly recognised.
The Game of Thrones actor, who plays the role of Jon Snow, said that male actors now endure “demeaning” sexism towards their appearance which women in the film industry have long experienced.
The 29-year-old said he’d been most exposed to the film industry’s sexism in scenes where he was asked to strip off.
“I think there is a double standard,” he told The Sunday Times Magazine. “If you said to a girl, ‘Do you like being called a babe?’ and she said, ‘No, not really,’ she’d be absolutely right.”
“I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks,” he continued. “It’s demeaning. Yes, in some ways you could argue I’ve been employed for a look I have. But there’s a sexism that happens towards men.”
“There’s definitely a sexism in our industry that happens towards women, and there is towards men as well. At some points during photoshoots when I’m asked to strip down, I felt that.”
Harrington explained he would stop acting altogether if he felt he was only being cast in roles because of his looks. He also said he tired of being asked perpetual questions about his hair, muscular physique and love life.

Usually Hollywood is filled with lowlife mangina scum that would sell out other men in a heartbeat. I'm glad Kit Harington is not one of them. He has valid points and we at the Men's Rights Blog support him on his endeavor. Misandry in Hollywood must be addressed and I'm glad that Kit Harington is man enough to tackle it.

Statist loses election but wants to be Secretary of State
The good news: Congressman Howard Berman -- one of the lead supporters of SOPA -- lost his re-election bid last week. The bad news: The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Berman is being considered as the replacement for Hillary Clinton when she steps down as Secretary of State in coming weeks. That would mean that he'd play a key role in developing global Internet policy! Please add your name at right to tell President Obama and the Senate that Berman has no place being considered for Secretary of State. Berman has spent decades representing Southern California, and has been one of the biggest shills for Hollywood and other forces that seek to censor the Internet: He was one of the original sponsors of SOPA, and unlike so many others who had the sense to wiithdraw their support after the Internet cried out, Berman has never backed down. But now the LA Times reports:
Berman, who has been chairman and ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is among those now mentioned by U.S. officials as a possible replacement for Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton when she departs next year.
If the United States really cares about global Internet freedom, there couldn't be a worse pick for Secretary of State than Berman, who's repeatedly tried to censor the web at Hollywood's behest -- and Hollywood's been leading a global charge to clamp down on Internet freedom. Let's put Obama and the Senate on notice.

Last week we got rid of this statist asshole through democratic means but we could end up stuck with him if we don't let Obama and our senators know that we don't want him. If he is a big SOPA supporter I don't want him anywhere near the controls for the internet. If he is so big with the Hollywood crowd then they can give him a job in the private sector so that way he can leave the rest of us alone.

You paid for it,maintained it but you may not be the legal owner
From Demand Progress:
You've Been Owned: Tell Obama To Stop Siding With Copyright Trolls
We need your help: Once again, the film studios and record companies that tried to censor the Internet are up to no good. The same business lobbyists who backed SOPA are trying to stop you from reselling most of the things that you own -- and President Obama has taken their side.
Arguments before the Supreme Court take place later this month: Please add your name at right to tell Obama to stand with consumers and Internet users.
A few months ago Demand Progress -- joined by over 100,000 Internet users and a coalition of public interest groups -- asked President Obama to take action and protect consumers' rights to resell their own things. The Supreme Court is currently hearing a case (Kirstaeng v. Wiley) that will decide whether you have the right to sell your iPod, books, and other goods on eBay and Craigslist -- or even at your own yard sale.
But the entertainment industry lobbyists at the MPAA and RIAA have filed a brief in the Supreme Court mocking consumers' concerns -- just like they did during the SOPA Fight. These special interests admit that they want the Supreme Court to decide against the interests of ordinary Americans and protect the music and film industries' "ability to control entry into distinct markets."
You heard that right -- Hollywood thinks that controlling their CD and DVD markets is more important than consumer rights.
Amazingly, the Obama administration agrees and has rejected the pleas of thousands of ordinary consumers: The White House's solicitor general filed a legal brief rejecting our arguments and allowing big businesses to sue people for reselling their things online.

Obama is going out of his way to insure he is,like Bush Sr.,a one term president. Whenever the people favor something these two shoot it down. Now they do so at their own expense.

CISPA dead-for now
From Campaign For Liberty:
Thanks to your efforts and those of thousands of liberty activists across the country, by a vote of 52-46, the Senate defeated Senator Lieberman's Cybersecurity Act of 2012 - for now.
Unfortunately, bad legislation frequently shares a trait with Hollywood movie villain, Freddy Krueger.
No matter how many times you kill it, it just keeps coming back.
As the statists continue to try and centralize control over the internet, you and I can guarantee this legislation will rear its ugly head again in September.
After using this August recess to regroup and refocus their attack, there is a real threat Harry Reid and his cronies will have the votes to shove this bill down our throats.
While today's victory will have defeated the so-called Cybersecurity Act momentarily, it's absolutely vital the liberty movement remain vigilant.
But for now, thank you for taking action to defeat this legislation.
In Liberty,
Matt Hawes
Vice President
P.S. Thanks to your efforts and those of thousands of liberty activists across the country, today we defeated Lieberman's Cybersecurity Act of 2012 - for now.
Unfortunately, you and I can guarantee this legislation will once again rear its ugly head in September.
The price for liberty is eternal vigilance and so we will be watching and see if they come up with some liberty killing monstrosity and if they do we will defeat it. It's that simple.

U.S. Government persecutes U.K. subject
Join Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales: Protect Internet Freedom And Seek Justice for Richard O'Dwyer
Hi, I am Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia, and if you care about justice and the future of Internet freedom, Demand Progress and I need your help. This will only take a few seconds, but you can really help us change things for the better.
Richard O'Dwyer is a 24 year old British student at Sheffield Hallam University in the UK. He is facing extradition to the USA and up to ten years in prison, for creating a website - TVShack.net – which linked (similarly to a search-engine) to places to watch TV and movies online.
O'Dwyer is not a US citizen, he's lived in the UK all his life, his site was not hosted there, and most of his users were not from the US. America is trying to prosecute a UK citizen for an alleged crime which took place on UK soil.
The Internet as a whole must not tolerate censorship in response to mere allegations of copyright infringement. As citizens we must stand up for our rights online.
Please sign on at right here to join me in demanding that British authorities refuse to extradite O'Dwyer, and that US officials cease persecuting him.
When operating his site, Richard O'Dwyer always did his best to play by the rules: on the few occasions he received requests to remove content from copyright holders, he complied. His site hosted links, not copyrighted content, and these were submitted by users.
Copyright is an important institution, serving a beneficial moral and economic purpose. But that does not mean that copyright can or should be unlimited. It does not mean that we should abandon time-honored moral and legal principles to allow endless encroachments on our civil liberties in the interests of the moguls of Hollywood.
Richard O'Dwyer is the human face of the battle between the content industry and the interests of the general public. Earlier this year, in the fight against SOPA and PIPA, the public won its first big victory. This could be our second.
This is why I am petitioning the UK's Home Secretary Theresa May to stop the extradition of Richard O'Dwyer, and asking the United States to end his prosecution. I hope you will join me.

I'm not a big wikipedia fan so you should know that I would rather let the blind master from Kung Fu shave my pubes with a straight razor in a pitch black room than be on the same page as wikipedia. If it was staff at wikipedia getting fucked I would have no problem but in this case it appears that the U.S. Government is overstepping its bounds. This is the same government that doesn't do shit in the middle east, ignores Pro-American sentiment amongst the Iranian youth yet they can persecute some guy running a tv guide style website. This is rediculous and the U.S. government should just hang it up on this one. If you feel the same way sign the petition.

A blurb of hope
From Demand Progress:
Hollywood's bragging that they're pushing a new version of SOPA. But in less than 24 hours more than 50,000 of you have emailed the White House to demand that President Obama reject Hollywood's back room deal.
This is indeed encouraging as it shows Obama and the other PTB that we are not going to let them cancel the Constitution on us,particularly the First Amendment. Be sure to sign the Fight For The Future petition mentioned in the post previous to this one and sign the Demand Progress petition as well.

Hollywood lobby to get SOPA like legislation passed
From Demand Progress:
Tell Obama And Dodd: No Backroom Dealing, No New SOPA
They still just don't get it. Chris Dodd -- the head of the Hollywood Lobby -- is bragging that he's working on a new insider deal to push through SOPA-like legislation.
He had this exchange with the Hollywood Reporter this week:
THR: Are there conversations going on now?
Dodd: I'm confident that's the case, but I'm not going to go into more detail because obviously if I do, it becomes counterproductive.
THR: Did you feel personally blindsided by Obama over SOPA?
Dodd: I'm not going to revisit the events of last winter. I'll only say to you that I'm confident he's using his good relationships in both communities to do exactly what you and I have been talking about.
This exchange comes days after the White House issued a report that urges a redoubling of efforts to crack down on piracy.
Hollywood and Obama should've learned: No form of censorship will be acceptable to Internet users, and we're fed up with corrupt, back-room deals that are driven by the rich and well-connected. Any major Internet policy changes should be negotiated in the light of day, so the millions of people who'd be affected can have their say too.
Please tell President Obama to reject Hollywood's backroom deals -- just add your name at right.
TO PRESIDENT OBAMA AND CHRIS DODD: After the biggest outpouring of activism in the history of the Internet, it's appalling that Hollywood is back to its old insider ways. No backroom deals -- and no new SOPA. And any and all negotiations with Hollywood should take place in the light of day.

Wow,these idiots just don't get it. We don't want their censorship pushed on us. You would think that after they got shellacked for sponsoring SOPA they would learn their lesson but no they want to go through this again. If we have to stand up to them again it is not a problem because the price of liberty is eternal vigilance.Preserve your liberty sign the petition today.
