More on Hugo Schwyzer

Porn Professor Hugo Schwyzer Attempts Suicide

By Dennis Romero Fri., Aug. 2 2013 at 2:01 PM

Hugo Schwyzer, the social sciences academic at Pasadena City College best known as the "porn professor," tried to commit suicide last night, he told the Weekly today.

He was visiting his mother in the Monterey area, where he grew up, when it happened about 10 p.m., he said. He was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, the professor said:

"I took an entire bottle of Klonapin," he said. That's a muscle relaxant and anti-anxiety drug.

Schwyzer said he's physically OK but reiterated how the social media fallout from a sexting relationship with a sometime porn star and multiple affairs with women made his marriage "over" and sunk him into a deep depression.

He wanted to make clear that none of these dalliances involved PCC students or employees.

The prof says Twitter and article comments roasting him as a woman hater and regurgitating a 15-year-old suicide attempt and attempted murder of a girlfriend have taken their toll.

Schwyzer is perhaps best known for his writings on women ("male feminist," he's been called), though many feminists have issues with his personal track record and his academic fascination with pornography.

(He says porn, a major piece of our media landscape, needs to be studied more seriously in this country.)

The professor also made headlines for inviting some of adult video's top stars, including James Deen, to speak during his course on pornography.

That class has been canceled, the prof said this week, because of his personal issues. But he told us he hopes to bring it back someday.

"Mental illness is a bitch, it really is," Schwyzer told us on the phone today.

The crimes of Hugo Schwyzer

The pride of feminism

When it comes to male feminist sleezebags there is no one more slimier than Hugo Schwyzer. Schwyzer is a big time scumbag. In fact he won't even own up to his being a child's father. In fact Hugo has no problem if this child has problems down the road. It's not his concern. When you're a pompous, narcissitic asshole like Schwyzer others don't matter, just you. Now that he's telling men who are in their 40's who want to be with women in their 20's what sick fucks they are we are finding out that it takes one to know one. It seems that when it comes to wanting younger women Hugo is exempt from the "pervert" label. If you don't believe me ask Hugo. Hugo is not above blaming us for his problems. In fact he will blame anyone but himself. Schwyzer is even telling everyone he is retiring but I'll believe that when I see it. If he is retiring for good then let the door hit him on the ass on the way out.

What may be next for Hugo Schwyzer

How is Hugo Schwyzer going to top himself? He expolits his students and cheats on his wives. If this were any other guy I would have sympathy but not for Schwyzer. He is a psychopath that will throw other men under the bus for his own benefit. But back to the topic: how is he going to top this? He could do what he's probably wanted to do for a long time, perhaps all if not most of his life. What he has always wanted to do is to fuck his mother or at least have a 3some with mom and dad. If he had the hots for a male porn star you know he wants to blow his father. If he doesn't do his parents then he'll probably try to do his kids or the family pets. Animals have instinct that usually serves them well so chances are they picked up what a psycho Schwyzer is and hightailed it out of there. Which means that Schwyzer may be on the road to pedophilia. Stay tuned.

What do feminists think about Hugo Schwyzer

I wonder what feminists think about the whole Hugo Schwyzer saga. You've seen what I have written but I want to know what femimists think about it. They've been silent on this for the most part that I know of and Hugo Schwyzer is a feminist that is no different than any other feminist. Sure he's been underhanded about things but what feminist isn't. Sure he does sick things to his students but what feminist doesn't. While it is true he has raped the genders for his own gain but what feminist hasn't.

Hugo Schwyzer is a cuckold

Hugo Schwyzer

For those of you who don't know Hugo Schwyzer is a bigtime mangina and feminist enabler in fact I believe he may teach a women's studies course. So naturally when I read this I had to run with it. In his account notice how he glosses over the fact that he got a skank pregnant and excuses her as well. Typical mangina.

I May Have A Son, But I’ll Never Know For Sure

Hugo Schwyzer —In a medium-sized city in the Midwest, there's a boy who will turn 13 next month. He lives with his parents, who were wed three months before he was born. He is tall, with dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. His name is Alastair*, and he may –- or may not -– be my son. More on that in a moment.

No woman ever wonders if she's a mother or not. (Egg donors are one possible exception.) But as the Casey Anthony trial vividly reminded us, it's possible for a woman to be unsure about the identity of her baby's father. And even more possible for a man to be entirely unaware that he's a father –- or to be unaware that the child he thinks is his is biologically another man's.

♦◊♦

Do you have any kids?

No. Not that I know of, anyway.

That clichéd exchange has become a standard part of first-date conversation. When I was single, I got that question and gave that answer many times. I eventually stopped saying it, not because I had received hard evidence about my reproductive status, but because a woman I was dating called me out on it. "God", she said, "you guys always say that. It's such an obvious and cheesy way to show off that you've slept around. You think you're being sly, but it's just juvenile."

That cured me of the habit, but to judge from what I hear from my friends, there are plenty of men of all ages still offering that same reply. And while for some it may indeed be a not-so-subtle way of hinting at a promiscuous past, for others it may reflect a sincere acknowledgment of the very real possibility that they've fathered a child. In my case, I have very real grounds for uncertainty.

♦◊♦

Fourteen autumns ago, I was casually dating a woman I'll call Jill*. We had unprotected intercourse a handful of times in late October and early November. And just before Thanksgiving, Jill discovered she was pregnant.

She didn't tell me until after New Year's Day. While Jill and I had been in a "friends with benefits" arrangement, she'd also been growing more serious about another man, Ted.* She'd first slept with him for the first time two nights before she had last slept with me. It was that week that Jill got pregnant, and as she would later tell me, there was no way to know for sure which one of us was the father.

But there was no question which one of us was a better bet as a romantic partner. Jill had broken things off with me as soon as she and Ted had decided on an exclusive relationship (just before she found out she was pregnant.) Ted was several years older than I was, professionally and emotionally stable, and clearly falling in love with Jill. I was drinking, partying, with some time to go before I'd hit my rock bottom. Jill wanted to be a mom. Ted wanted to be a dad. I wasn't sure what I wanted. In her mind, these facts settled it: the baby was Ted's. Or it needed to be Ted's.

They got engaged at Christmas, and were married in May 1998. Their son was born in August, and a few months later, the new little family moved out of state. I haven't seen her, or Ted, or Alastair in over a decade. Except for a half-dozen short emails in the past few years, Jill and I have had no contact.

Jill never told Ted that she'd been sleeping with someone else the week their son was conceived. Ted and I were both about the same height with the same fair skin and the same pale blue eyes; she knew that without a DNA test, there'd be no sure way to know which one of us was the biological father. But there was a sure way to know which one of us was "dad material", and which one of us wasn't. Jill was clear that she preferred everlasting uncertainty to the possibility of discovering that her Ted was not her son's father. As the one who carried Alastair in her womb, it was her choice to make.

I made a promise to Jill before Alastair was born that I'd never ask for a paternity test, nor reveal to Ted the possibility that I might be the biological father of his son. I wasn't in love with Jill and wasn't ready to be a parent: Ted was both of those things. From what little I hear, he's been a great husband and a doting father all these years. He and Jill have had two more sons together. With all that in mind, it would be an act of destructive narcissism on my part to ever break my promise and barge back into Jill's life.

I won't lie and say I don't wonder sometimes about this boy who will become a teen next month. But I've wondered far less since becoming a father to my own daughter in 2009. My role in Heloise's conception was brief (but, um, not that brief); my roles as a devoted husband to her mother and a doting papa to her are my most treasured and important tasks. If I were to discover that I was not my daughter's biological dad, I'd be hurt by my wife's deception -– but Heloise would be no less my daughter. (I have no reason to suspect otherwise, of course.) Fathering has everything to do with being present after conception and after birth, and very little with providing the sperm to fertilize an egg. Regardless of what a paternity test would reveal, I am still my daughter's dad -– and in every meaningful sense, Ted is Alastair's.

♦◊♦

I only met this boy who might be my son once, when he was just eight weeks old. Ted and Jill were getting ready to move to the Midwest, and she and I met for coffee so that we could say goodbye. For a host of reasons I'm not sure I fully understand, she wanted me to meet Alastair, and I was eager to see him. I rocked him in my arms and smelled his baby smell. I studied his blue eyes and fine hair. Jill and I sipped our lattés and chatted; Alastair fell asleep in his baby carrier. After an hour, his mama kissed me on the cheek and I pressed my lips against his forehead. I said goodbye to my friend and her son and walked away with tears in my eyes. I've never seen so much as a photograph of Alastair since.

The specifics of human reproduction mean that men may have children of whose existence they are unaware, and they may unwittingly raise as their own children conceived with another man's sperm. But women have it harder, and not only in terms of pregnancy, labor, and delivery. It is Jill, not I, who carries the burden of an unresolved question through her relationship with her husband and her first-born son. Perhaps that weight has become so light that she's forgotten it altogether. I hope so.

I may or may not be Alastair's biological father. I may or may not have other children "out there." These uncertainties that I know many men share are part of the cost of a habit of unprotected heterosexual intercourse. But the solution to the problem isn't suspicion or frantic demands for paternity tests, Jerry Springer style. The solution isn't even the rigorous use of contraception (though that's a very good idea.)

The solution is to remember that it is love, not sperm, that makes a great dad.

From a brainwashed child

What Should You Do When Someone You Love Becomes a Men’s Rights Activist?

That's the question posed by an advice-seeker who wants to know what to do about his increasingly misogynist dad. We decided to look for a few more tips.

Earlier this week, Dad-Related Dilemma wrote to Slate's Dear Prudence,

My mom left my dad for another man 10 years ago, when my brother and I were in grade school. She took us with her, and the loss of his family turned my father into a bitter man. He now considers himself a men's rights activist. From what I can tell, the men's rights movement my dad belongs to believes that American law and society has institutionalized misandry. One website my dad frequents warns men not to date single mothers because their children might accuse the boyfriend of molesting them to reap the benefits of victimhood. My dad speaks often about the men's rights movement, and when my brother and I don't want to listen, he accuses us of being brainwashed by feminists. His behavior doesn't come across as crazy so much as it does misogynistic. Now I'm 18 and could stop seeing him if I wanted to. But my brother is younger and still has to see him. My mom doesn't know the full story because we don't want her to overreact. What should we do?

Prudie advises telling Dad he needs to quit the MRA talk if he wants to have a relationship with his sons, which is solid advice, but is there any way to tackle his bad ideas head-on? How should one argue with a loved one who's turned into a misogynist? I talked to David Futrelle of Man Boobz, who is somewhat bearish on MRAs' ability to change: "Unfortunately, in most cases, I don't think it's possible to talk someone out of a Men's Rights obsession. For most of them, it seems to be driven not by facts — they're happy to simply make up facts to fit their worldview — but by feelings, most obviously by rage at women." However, he adds,

The one argument I think you CAN make to MRAs who are not too far gone is this: it's not healthy for you to spend so much time stewing in your anger online. Instead of trying to help men work through their personal issues with women, the [men's rights media] encourages men to cultivate their rages and hatreds, to remain stuck. That's not healthy for them, or for society at large.

Jezebel contributor Hugo Schwyzer offered some more ideas. He says "most MRAs come from a place of huge disappointment. Yes, it's entitlement too, but it's also a deep place of hurt." How to get past that hurt? Schwyzer says,

In terms of advice, it's not easy for a son to challenge his Dad. But drive the conversation towards individual women — not the "bitches" and "harpies" of his father's imagination, but the women Dad has loved. A mother? A sister? An ex? There is inside every MRA I've ever met a stopped-up well of compassion and love for women. It's getting to the good stories (and there are always GOOD stories) about women that is so vital. And from those stories about individual women Dad has loved, perhaps the son can talk about what those women went through and experienced.

He adds,

It's also important for Dad to be able to talk about his own pain — not his rage, which is a response to pain, but the pain itself. Men's Rights Activism is the public manifestation of an experience of betrayal (whether that betrayal is "real" or not, it's perceived as real.) Getting to the source of that rage is vital.

I wouldn't ordinarily advocate trying to get to the bottom of a men's rights activist's pain — lots of MRAs talk about how much they'd like to inflict pain on women, and frankly, I don't have much empathy for them. But in this case we're talking about a dude (or maybe a lady) and his dad. This is someone he loves and someone his brother has to have regular contact with — and it's not clear that DRD wants to cut his dad off, either. That's always an option — Schwyzer notes that there could come a point when "it becomes too painful" for DRD to keep engaging with his dad. But if he hasn't reached that point yet, it may be worth trying to reach out. After all, if anyone's going to get MRAs to stop spewing hate, it's probably the people they love.

There is no mention of how the father feels about being betrayed by a whore of a wife and it seems that the kid,Prudie nor Anna North truly care about his well-being. This kid has been brainwashed by his mom and since it promotes feminism North is all too happy write about it. She quotes morons like Dave Fooltrelle and Hugo Schwyzer. Fooltrelle is just an useful idiot while Swyitzer is a different animal all together.(To see what I mean click here) Someday this kid, unless he's gay, will most likely encounter a woman like his mom and he will be picked dry by these manipulators. Most of all congrats to dad for seeing the light and joining our ranks and I hope he becomes activist very soon. It looks like the father has seen the light now when will his son also see the light? Before or after he is used by the manipulative females? That question will be answered, not "if" but "when".
